At Compresso, we are always on the lookout for inspiration. Our eyes and ears are open, our feelers extended – because something exciting and new could be hiding around every corner. How about immersing yourself in digital art and experiencing how diverse it is? We have compiled three exhibitions and cultural happenings.
House of Electronic Arts – HEK – MüNchenstein/Basel
The HEK is dedicated to digital culture and new art forms of the information age. Since 2011, creative and critical discourses on the aesthetic, socio-political, and economic impacts of media technologies have been taking place. The HEK showcases contemporary art that explores and shapes new technologies and promotes an aesthetic practice that uses information technologies as a medium, illustrates them, and actively intervenes in their processes. As an interdisciplinary museum, the institution deals with current art events across various disciplines including visual arts, music, theater, dance, performance, and design. The HEK offers the general public insights into art productions at the intersection of art, media, and technologies.
Digilab @ Kunsthaus ZüRich
The Digilab aims to reflect on media technologies and digitization with a spirit of experimentation. The classic exhibition space is to be expanded into the digital realm and reflect its potential back. And during the subsequent visit to the Kunsthaus, the analog and digital worlds can be excellently combined.
Tutankhamun Immersive – the Treasures of the Pharaoh @ Lichthalle Maag
The gentle first contact with immense digital possibilities in the art and cultural sector. The immersive exhibition TUTANKHAMUN is a unique multimedia experience that transports guests to the fascinating land of pyramids and great mysteries. In the large virtual and augmented reality area, visitors walk along winding paths through the Valley of the Kings and find Tutankhamun’s burial chamber as Howard Carter discovered it in 1922.
