Cocktail Recipes by Marie Gerber

Stilvolle Lounge mit zentralem Kamin

Mixology meets Mythology: Bar Manager Marie Gerber and her team passionately created 22 new “sober” and “non sober” drinks for The Bar and Living Room. These are not only sensual and refined but also transport guests into the world of Greek gods and mythology.

Marie has perfected the craft of mixology. She knows which components complement each other in the glass and create an exciting pairing. From spicy to sweet-salty, from refreshing to strong: The unconventional cocktails surprise both in taste and appearance, playing with contrasts and controversies that simultaneously stimulate thought – as sustainability plays a crucial role in these drinks.

But it doesn’t always have to be high-proof. The best proof that non-alcoholic cocktails can also be spectacular is provided by the 5-star deluxe hotel, dedicating page 1 of the new bar menu to the “non sober” side. Mythology in liquid form for philosophizing and enjoying!

Cocktail Recipes by Marie Gerber, Manager of the Bar Lounges at the Chedi Andermatt

For an exclusive The Chedi Andermatt feeling in your own home, Marie Gerber opens her notebook of cocktail creations for us and reveals to our newsletter fans the recipes for her favorite drinks “Nala” and “Athena”.

“Nala”
The Chedi Andermatt bar team is inspired by the fictional goddess of the present, “Nala”, created by themselves. The idea for this drink arose around the birth of the team’s first baby and is meant to always remind us of what’s truly important in life during turbulent times.

– >Vinegar-based syrup. Warm honey and mix with regular vinegar or apple cider vinegar in a 3:1 ratio, let cool and bottle

Stir both ingredients in a dessert wine or spirits glass and garnish with a honey chip. Alternatively, a piece of chocolate also pairs well.

“Athena”
“Athena” symbolizes the goddess of wisdom and strategy in mythology. At The Chedi Andermatt, she embodies the strategy of modern, minimalist bar culture. The vision “In Vino Veritas” lies in the port wine or as it’s called at The Chedi Andermatt “in cocktails ex chedi veritas”. A clean, unagitated appearance meets exciting drinking pleasure.

Shake all ingredients in a shaker, double strain into a coupe glass, and decorate with a mint leaf.

We’re excited to see your creations and would be delighted if you share them on Instagram with the hashtag #compresso. With that, “Santé”.
